2009's scary rookie girl group once again prevails on the charts. 2NE1 achieved #1 on Cyworld BGM Annual Top Songs Chart with 'I Don't Care', just surpassing 2009's top artists SNSD and G-Dragon. A few spots below at #5 is their collaboration CF song with Big Bang 'Lollipop'.

2NE1 also holds a few more spots in this Top 100 chart, with Bom's You and I at #11, Fire at #14, In The Club, CL & Minzy's Please Don't Go, and Let's Go Party at #36, #65, and #96 respectively.




2007 and 2008 belonged to also YG Entertainment as Big Bang took the #1 spot respectively for 'Lies' and 'Haru Haru'.

“Edgy” 2NE1, will they continue their “big hit” trend in 2010?
2009, a year when girl power swept through the Korean music scene, a 4 member girl group, 2NE1, with a different concept than [of the] typical girl group came into the Korean Music scene.

In 2009 new girl groups such as 4minute, Secret, Rainbow, F(x), T-ara, etc debuted saying that they would ‘appeal [the public] with a different color than that of the typical girl groups [of the past]’ but none of them have been able to show as much difference as 2NE1.

2NE1 was not to be belittled from the start. These girls were a hot topic on the internet café’s with the title “female Big Bang” long before they debuted. And on top of that, this female idol group was created by Big Bang’s company, YG Entertainment.

Each member also gained much attention. Sandara Park (27 years old) was as famous [in the Phillippines] known to be the ‘Philippine Boa’, Park Bom (27 years old) worked together with Lee Hyori and Lee Junki during the AnyCall CF. The youngest Gong Minzy (17 years old) gained attention by being the granddaughter of a [famous] Korean traditional dancer Gong Ok-Jin and although young, CL (20 years old) the leader called much attention [to herself] by having superior rapping skills.

SeeYa, Davichi and T-ara will comeback with their 2nd project single ‘Wonder Woman’ after ‘Female Generation’.

There were 5 members for their first project – SeeYa YeonJi, Boram, Davichi HaeRi, MinKyung and T-ara JiYeon.

But for this project, it will be a 7-member one with new members SeeYa SooMi, T-ara HyoMin and EunJung with the song ‘Wonder Woman’ written and composed by Jo YeongSoo.

The lyrics to the song goes “Girls don’t be depressed Shouting out proudly Men get lose Women has our strong willpower Stronger than Love”

The project will be revealed on 7th January and the group will have their first performance on KBS Music Bank on 15th January.

F.cuz members hospitalized!

Bad news for all you fans expecting F.cuz to debut! Every single F.cuz member was taken to the E.R. due to exhaustion.

This news coming with only a few more days until their official debut on January 8th is terrible news indeed.

A quick review of what happened:

On January 2nd, F.cuz held their Free Hug event at Dong Dae Mun in Seoul. The event proved to be very popular and fans came from all over Korea in the freezing cold weather to get a hug. The entire district was shut down for a while because of the sheer amount of people who came.

The event lasted an hour and the members took the time to hug their fans personally until the end of the event.

Sadly, this event coupled with preparation for their debut led to extreme exhaustion and the members had to be taken to the E.R. to receive a shot of Ringer’s solution (what Ringer's solution is/used for).

A representative of the group said, “The members are overly passionate about their debut stage performance and they have been practicing every night until late, to the state of complete exhaustion. On the day of the Hug Event, the cold weather had been harsh and this resulted in their extreme exhaustion. We looked for a hospital and they received their treatment.” “With their debut approaching, we will check on the members’ health conditions and do our best. Perhaps a silver lining on this is that this happened before their debut.”

Hopefully they’ve recovered fully so they’ll be ready to get down as “JIGGY” will be released on the 8th of January!

Young R&B singers Miliyah Kato and Shimizu Shota are set to release FOREVER LOVE, their second single together, on February 3rd.

The first collaboration between both singers was the single Love Forever, released in May. It became an instant hit, being downloaded over two million times on websites specialized in digital songs. As a physical CD, it stayed in the Oricon charts for 15 consecutive weeks.

Not much is known about this new single so far, except that it will go on sale in both regular and limited editions, with the latter one also featuring a DVD with a music video.

According to the latest issue of Josei Seven, singer Namie Amuro (32) and comedian Atsushi Tamura (36) are currently a couple. The two were apparently seen taking a trip together in the U.S. this past week.

The magazine reports that Amuro flew from Narita to Los Angeles on December 28, and Tamura followed on the next day. The pair met up there, then took a flight together to Phoenix, Arizona. On the plane, they sat in adjacent seats, and Amuro was seen sleeping with her head on Tamura's shoulder.

Throughout their trip, which lasted 9 days and 7 nights, Amuro and Tamura were often seen cuddling up to each other or holding hands. In Arizona, they visited the scenic Sedona area and checked into a hidden resort hotel.

The pair reportedly met for the first time last summer at a house party of a mutual friend. Tamura, who is one half of the popular duo London Boots 1go 2go (commonly known as just London Boots or Lonboo), has been romantically linked in the past to celebrities such as Nanako Fujisaki (32), Chinatsu Wakatsuki (25), and Noriko Nakagoshi (30). His most recent girlfriend was a non-celebrity, but he revealed last September that they had broken up, apparently around the time that he and Amuro had met.

Amuro was previously married to SAM (47) of TRF from 1997 to 2002, and since then she has raised their 11-year-old son by herself. Although she has normally celebrated New Year's Day with her son, she had someone else taking care of him this time while she went on her trip with Tamura.

The management agencies of both Amuro and Tamura have declined to comment on the matter.

At first when I saw this was in Tokyo Sports, I dismissed it because Tokyo Sports is usually BS, but since other media reported on it too I have to say that I'm happy for the both of them. I <3 watching London Hearts (which Tamura Atsushi hosts) and of course Namie as well.

ZE:A, previously known as Child(ren) of Empire, is set to make their debut with this three track mini album, Nativity.

Already, the boys are getting a lot of attention. Most recently for their recent name change to ZE:A. The new nine-member group is all set to debut with their new mini album. All they need to do now is release their music video and stop teasing us. Their title song is "Mazeltov."
